“If someone is selling a diet, don’t buy it!”
As a second installment of “Yeti Bits and Bobs,” our series of short quips and advice to launch your transformation journey, I report on the dangers of dieting.
In our previous episode, “Avoiding The Bonk,” I briefly discuss the importance of nutrition during long run efforts. But what about the diet industry itself, a for-profit movement that doesn’t care about nutrition at all! Have we bought into the lies, lies that we accept in search of a singular approach to battling the size of our gut?
Three movies that I recently watched are reviewed and criticized for their contribution to confusion about what constitutes a healthy diet. We are all looking for that one magic bullet to fix a lifetime of extreme approaches to eating. I ask, “Is dieting killing us?” The answer is a resounding, “Yes!” Moreover, companies are profiting from our addiction to extreme solutions.
The diet industry uses confusion and propaganda to promote profit interests above the health of world citizens. Confusion through misinformation is spinning society on a merry-go-round with no end in sight.
I look forward to your response on this very controversial topic.
