Today I sit with Estelle Matheson, volunteer, paddler, and a soul deeply invested in designing the transformational experiences in her life.  Learn about Estelle’s life-in-motion as she discusses where she has been, the catalysts in her life, and her future focus as an invested agent of change.

It is rare to meet someone with the combination of skills and experiences that Estelle possesses.  She describes two transformational periods in her life, the first while doing volunteer work for the Tabitha Foundation, an international NGO dedicated to helping families in Cambodia with housing and healthcare.  She describes experience on her first trip to Cambodia and feeling overwhelmed, as she witnessed the horrible consequences of poverty in a post-genocide nation.

Estelle returned from Cambodia primed for radical change.  This is when she discovered paddling.  After going out on her first paddling excursion in the January waters around Vancouver, she states that she was irreversibly hooked.  Fast forward to 2016, and Estelle is now a member of the Jericho Paddling Club and an athlete for the Canadian National Team, taking her to competitions around the world.

Today’s interview is both educational and heart-felt.  Estelle describes her personal evolution with compassion and vivid descriptions as she recounts the power she has felt in writing her own transformational story.  Estelle is a living example of someone highly engaged with life, with a firm understanding of self-efficacy.
