“Running races is your opportunity to shine!”
Following is a rundown of the five big races I am now registered for over the next 12 months. I completed these same events over the past year. It has become my “must do” list of races that every runner should sign-up for in Vancouver. There are dozens of events each year around Metro Vancouver to fit every skill level. I consider the following list “compulsory” for any runner wanting to set a personal best, or wants an intermittent race experience while training for their first marathon. You will have an amazing experience in the process!
|Eastside 10k||Sept. 17th, 2016||00:55:00|
|Granville Island Turkey Trot 10k||Oct. 10th, 2016||00:55:00|
|Rock ‘n’ Roll Half-Marathon||Oct. 23rd, 2016||02:15:00|
|FallClassic Half-Marathon||Nov. 13th, 2016||02:15:00|
|BMO Vancouver Marathon||May 7th, 2017||04:45:00|
What do I love about these races?
All the events are run by the Canadian Running Series and the Vancouver International Marathon Society. They are very well-organized. Both offer the ability to run for local charities and volunteer if you desire. Every run I have completed under these two organizations have promoted a positive vibe. That’s all I need! Oh, and, they all have lots of awesome swag! I am all about the swag! 🙂
What is my “destination dream race” that should be added to this list?
If I could pick any race to travel to, I would do the Dublin Marathon! The race is at the perfect time of year (October) and has amazing reviews! I just think hanging out at an Irish pub after 42.2k sounds excellent!
