“November training is a reminder of what is to come.”
November was a great month! I completed the Fall Classic, 2015, a half marathon up around UBC campus. I am slowly building my base as marathon training ramps up. As you know, I will be running the BMO Vancouver Marathon in May, 2016. My training plan is rock solid, and I am starting to build a sense of confidence.
I am starting to understand on a much deeper level, the importance the long run distance. It takes your body months to adapt to long slow distance training sessions. The key is to slow down and stick to it. I also throw in several short runs throughout the week as part of my base. This is an opportunity for temp sessions and hill workouts, both that improve cardio capacity and strengthen core muscles.
Thank you everyone for the support you have given me throughout this journey. In the coming months, your positive feedback and vibes will push me through to the finish line.
