“My first Eastside 10k: Progress, one race at a time.”
I’m proud of how far I have come in the past year as a runner. After a couple of races this season, I feel very motivated to keep plowing through.
I am preparing for the BMO Vancouver Marathon after completing the half this past May. Running shorter races between major events keeps me motivated and my training goals on target. The Eatside 10k is just one of those great experiences.
Regarding weight and body image, it is always difficult looking at photos of myself. I am no where close to where I want my size to be. But hey, dropping nearly 50lbs over the past year, just from staying active and holding strong to a holistic approach to nutrition, is nothing to disregard.
So, here is a massive “high-5” to myself in celebration of my journey thus far! Over time, I hope that running becomes less of a means to an end (in regard to weight loss). I want it to develop into a regular part of my lifestyle, regardless of my size.
