“I am always up for a challenge, especially if it relates to diet.”

Chili Vegan Style

My New Diet

I am a proud plant-based athlete!  Adopting a plant-based diet has been the most powerful choices I have made for myself as a runner.  I originally made the leap with the intention to lose weight. The results of my choice, a choice that extends well beyond my own self interest, has become quite apparent.

Needless to say, I encourage everyone to adopt a vegan lifestyle.  The impact is profound.  Your entry point into a vegan lifestyle does not matter; there is no wrong reason to become vegan!

Bigger Challenges Ahead!

Tomorrow I am releasing a video describing what I will be doing to take my marathon training to the next big level.  Marathon training is hard enough, right?  Some have said that training on a plant-based vegan diet is impossible. “Where do you get your protein?”  … Don’t get me started….

Vegan? No problem!  But will I be able to make it over the next eight months without {____}?

Stay tuned!

Marathon Training on a Vegan Diet?  No Problem! But That is Not All! was last modified: July 19th, 2017 by Jerod Killick
  • It’s certainly not impossible. Look at Scott Jurek for instance, he’s the top vegan ultra runner out there. It can be done! 🙂

Heck, I just ran my first 50k and I’ve been plant based for a couple years now.

  • Jurek is something amazing. Months back I thought that a vegan diet was not comparable with running. I have learned otherwise indeed. Very exciting! I’m uber impressed with the improved recovery time.

  • That is huge, right? It’s amazing how quick the body bounces back when it’s fueled with good nutrition.

  • Vegan? No problem. There is no shame in becoming vegan to drop weight. Ethics is another but not the only.
