“BMO Vancouver: There’s no holding me back from the marathon distance now!”
On May 1, 2016 I will be running the BMO Vancouver Marathon. Registration opens up in September and I am very excited. To keep me motivated and on track for training, I have registered for three other races between now and November. (More to come about that!)
I ran my first half last May at the 2015 BMO event in Vancouver BC (my home). It was a total thrill and I showed myself that I can “do it”. The full is a much more challenging task and perceptively daunting. Using Polar Flow (I am a V800 user), I have already scheduled my training for the entire year.
There is power in putting together an appropriate training plan. Traditionally, plans are designed for the 16 weeks prior to race day. I am going to start several weeks in advance in an effort to decrease anxiety.
It still feels daunting.
Wish me luck!
